Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Teispace (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Guide To Termux mobile application (the “App”). We built the App to work offline without an account, and we keep the data we handle to the minimum needed to run it and keep it working.
The short version
- The App works fully offline and does not require an account or sign-in.
- Your saved recipes, snippets, history and settings stay on your device.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics and crash reporting (Google Firebase) to keep the App working. We do not sell your data.
- The App does not show advertisements and contains no advertising SDK.
Information stored on your device
The following is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us: your bookmarked recipes, your saved command snippets, recently viewed items, your theme and language preferences, and your acknowledgement of the Security Lab notice. Uninstalling the App removes this data.
Information we collect
To understand how the App is used and to fix crashes, we use Google Firebase, which collects information on our behalf:
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics): aggregated, pseudonymous usage data such as which screens and features are used, session information, app version, and general device and region information (device model, operating system version, and country). This is tied to an app-instance identifier, not to your name or email.
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): when the App crashes, diagnostic information such as the error, a stack trace, the app version, and the device state at the time of the crash, so we can reproduce and fix the problem.
- Content updates: the App is fully usable offline, but it may occasionally request an updated recipe library from our content endpoint. Standard technical information (such as your IP address) may be processed by our hosting provider to deliver that request; it is not used to identify you.
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location, and the App does not require those permissions to function.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve the App.
- To diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- To understand which features are useful so we can prioritise them.
- To keep the recipe library accurate and up to date.
We do not use this information to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf under their own terms — principally Google (Firebase) for analytics and crash reporting, and our hosting provider for content delivery. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Google's handling of Firebase data is described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
Data retention
On-device data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google's retention settings and are used only in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
Your choices and rights
- You can clear on-device data at any time from within the App or by uninstalling it.
- You can limit ad/analytics identifiers using your device's Android privacy settings (for example, resetting or deleting your advertising ID).
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or request deletion of information about you. Because the App has no account, contact us and we will help you exercise any applicable rights.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The Security Lab content is educational and intended for a general, responsible audience.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for commands you choose to run on your own device.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, noted in the App.
